Event Summary

Online registration will open January 2nd, 2020.

Four-day competition in track, field, archery, swimming and air gun for individuals ages 7 through adulthood with physical, visual or intellectual disabilities.

Schedule & Details: 

Swimming & Air Rifle competitions will be held the evening of Thursday, April 2nd.

Track & Field will be Thursday, April 2nd – Sunday, April 5th, 2020. Track and field will begin Thursday evening and will run through Sunday afternoon.Track & Field will be part of the World Para Athletics Grand Prix All track and field events being offered at Desert Challenge Games will be the events for Tokyo 2020.

Archery competitions (youth and adult) will be hosted on Sunday, April 5th, 2020.

Early registration deadline, including all international classification requests, will be Monday, February 17th, 2020. No late classification requests will be accepted after this date.

Late registration will close on Monday, March 16th 2020. NO late registrations will be accepted after the deadline.

International Classification Information:

International Classification requests and paperwork is due by February 17th, 2020. PI, II and VI classification will be offered. Classification will begin on Tuesday, March 31st and will run through Thursday, April 2nd.

Brent Carman, Treasurer

Brent joins the Will2Walk Board of Directors in 2016 as Treasurer.  He is currently a Wealth Advisor with Raymond James in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Prior to joining Raymond James as a Wealth Advisor, Brent worked for Wells Fargo’s Wealth Management Group as well as JP Morgan Chase's Investment Services as a financial consultant/advisor for a total of 7 years. Brent started his career in the securities industry with Morgan Stanley'€™s Private Client Group, offering portfolio management to high-net worth individuals and business owners in Scottsdale Arizona.  Prior to his financial services career Brent served Honorably in the United States Air Force for 4 years as an Aerospace Equipment Engineer and graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Global Business Management.

Brent enjoys spending his free time with his family, playing golf, basketball and cheering for his hometown Nebraska Huskers.

Jennifer Chaillie, Vice President
"I feel honored to be a part of the Board of Directors and join such an amazing group of people. I am dedicated to helping and supporting those who have been impacted by an SCI, and showing them they are still able to live a good life."~Jen Chaillie

Jennifer Chaillie sustained a spinal cord injury in a diving accident in 2011. As a former marathon runner, she is dedicated to staying physically active and now enjoys hand-cycling, swimming, weight lifting, and kayaking. She thrives on trying new things such as repelling, hang gliding, race car driving, skydiving and other fun adventures. Jennifer’s motto is “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.

Jennifer has a Masters Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University, and has a passion for helping others and making sure no one gets left behind. She has worked in the behavioral health field for ten years, and is currently a therapist specializing in treating children who had been victims of abuse. A native of Arizona, Jennifer resides in Tempe.

Rich Hamill, Founder and President
"I know that we can empower those with SCIs to regain control of their lives and prepare for the cure through education and perseverance." ~Rich Hamill

Rich Hamill was injured in an automobile accident at age 18. Throughout his journey of living with a spinal cord injury (SCI), Rich has been steadfast in his belief that a positive attitude and healthy body are of utmost importance for people with SCIs. He founded Will2Walk in 2008 in order to make his dream of inspiring others with spinal cord injuries a reality. Today, Rich is a Senior Claim Adjuster for Nationwide Insurance Company. He and his wife, Alesha, have twin girls, Kennedy and Sydney.
