The Will2Walk Emergency Fund program, which launched in January 2020, has distributed $8,500 to three individuals so far this year. The program is designed to provide emergency funding to those with traumatic spinal cord injuries who have an immediate medical or life necessity along with financial need.
- Julie Chambers, New Jersey – Transportation (down payment)
- Loranda Hart, Arizona – Transportation (hand controls)
- Pamela Williams, California – Home Modification (accessible shower remodel)
“This new program enables emergency funding for life’s most essential and basic needs to be met, such as transportation and the ability to shower independently,” noted Jen Chaillie, Will2Walk Vice President. “These are things most people take for granted and can do easily, but everything changes once you’re injured — all you want is your independence back.”
Emergency fund applications are reviewed within three business days, with approval communicated within five business days and funds available immediately.
