The Will2Walk Board of Directors is proud to announce the scholarship recipients for the second half of 2018! Representing seven states, these seven deserving applicants were awarded a total of $20,000 in scholarships toward the following items:
- Julie Chambers, New Jersey, Adaptive vehicle
- Martin Horn, South Carolina, Shower chair
- Joe Jackson, Arizona, SmartDrive wheelchair power assist
- Deja Lonesome, North Carolina, Adaptive vehicle
- Shelly Nelson, Florida, Adaptive vehicle
- Rio Peterson, Idaho, Health/fitness
- Michael Walthall, Illinois, Standing wheelchair
Scholarship decisions were made after careful review and recommendation from the Will2Walk Scholarship Committee.
“For this cycle, we received 15 applications totaling more than $70,000 in requests,” noted Jen Chaillie, Will2Walk Vice President and Committee Chair. “The success of our fundraising campaigns, such as our recent $10K Facebook Challenge, and our Michigan and Arizona golf events are critical. If we can continue to increase the amount we are awarding each cycle, we can positively impact as many of those with SCIs as possible.”
