Golfers at the 4th Annual Will2Walk Golf Scramble on December 8 had the opportunity to meet two of our grant recipients and hear about the opportunities our grants have provided them.
Jen Chaillie, a prior marathon runner, thanked Will2Walk for giving her the chance to stay active with her new handcycle. And Ernie Chun, the newest member of the USA Wheelchair Rugby National Team, shared his appreciation for Will2Walk’s part in purchasing a new, much-needed, rugby chair.
(L-R) Grant recipients Jen Chaillie and Ernie Chun chat with Will2Walk Vice President Dawn MacLean, President Rich Hamill, and Grant Committee Member Mike Benge.
“I loved having our grant recipients share their stories in person,” reflected President Rich Hamill. “It really provided our supporters a tangible example of the difference we can make in the SCI community with their generous donations.”
Close to 140 golfers enjoyed a beautiful day for golf, camaraderie over lunch, and coming together to support a great cause. The tournament brought in over $12,000 for the Foundation.
All proceeds from the tournament fund the Life Enhancement Grant Program, which awards grants to individuals with SCIs needing financial assistance for equipment and services that improve their general quality of life and provide opportunity for physical fitness.
